Hi everyone
After several years of successfully using Nokia mobiles to connect to the net (6310i, 3230, 9300) I'm having problems connecting with one of the new Nokia N80s.
I've spoke to Nokia and they say that none of the settings have changed but all I get when I try to connect (using Email or Opera) is:
Problem initialising modem
Modem settings may be incorrect
(see "Modems" in Control panel in System screen)
The infrared connection is definitely being made (phone shows status of Connected).
To explain how strange this is I can connect to the modem using the Comms application and send modem commands to the phone, including dialing *99# and it works fine.
Also, sending SMS messages fails in Email but works in PhoneMan Pro.
Orange are looking into this and if I get any information from them I will post it here, but does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can try?
Thanks
Chaz

After some debugging I think that the reason why the modem isn't working is because it is trying to send a command that the N80 modem doesn't understand.
This command is AT+CNMI=. This works on my 3230 but generates an ERROR on the N80.
This string is found in GSMBSC.TSY, found in System\Libs. My question is this - can this file be edited or reproduced without this string?
Thanks for any information
