Hi,
After a wandering in PDAs world I re-activated my old Psion 5mx, the best PDA ever been. However, I faced the following problems:
1.It's impossible to make phone calls from built-in applications (e.g contacts>dial), but this is possible, while using "PhoneMan" software.
2.I can recieve emails but can't send.(Wed application works perfectly and I can see web pages)
3.Text of SMS and emails isn't recognizable, while been written in greek.I used the "plFEP" but didn't help. I can't explain how it may happen, while using a greek.pkg localization with excellent file exchange options (concern greek charset).Isn't any other encoding option except 7-bit. 8-bit and UCS2?
I would be gratefull to everybody lightening my darkness..
Thx in advance
tlimon

Hi Tlimon,
#2 is almost certainly due to your ISP requiring SMTP Authorisation - which the Email app. does not do on its own. Search for SMTPAuth by Marcus von Cube. You'll need to install Java on you 5mx in order to get this to work.

Thanks Martin,
Actually, I had omitted to define the outgoing SMTP name according to my external modem (GPRS ISP). |
