|
|
Hi folks,
Apologies if this has been asked before, but what software that doesn't exist already is needed for the EPOC platform? Given the situation, I don't anticipate anyone taking on a major development project, but are there any gaping holes that a small-ish app could fill? We've got a few programmers on the list, and I'm sure many would be willing to have a go (for freeware of course ).
ATB,
-Shane

I would like to have a port of LATeX, a port of Lilypond, a port of any text web browser (like w3m, links or lynx)... A port of wget (I heard someone did with version 1.5.5, maybe I should try to make it myself)... To epocemx.
And If I dream I would like to see the Epoc32 OS becoming opensource With Full documentation. |

An email spam filter would be awesome. Oh, and firefox. And decent email archiving that handles attachments.

| Oh yeah - I've just thought of a program to allow lossless cropping (with or without rotating) JPG files - would be great for digital camera users. |

Hi All
I know its not an epoc based app and you are referng to native epoc apps Shane but if you want full image editing then have a look in general posts for "ImageJ Image editing on a Psion!!!!!!!!!!" I added the post after several weeks of playing with it and found it superb for editing etc of images. It's jave based and runs great on my Netbook and 5mx my girlfriend uses it on her series 7 and her MC218 with out any problems. Try it.
regards
