Do you like to see the eBook processing / activity window?

Not sure if many people have had a play with the initial beta of makeBook that I added to the site a couple of weeks ago but...

I've just readied the next release (cunningly to be called v0.2ß!) which will add .tcr capability to the existing .prc compilation/decompilation. This will be uploaded to the site tomorrow night probably (I've already got something for tonight).

At present the program displays the progress of the eBook compiler code in its shell window and then closes the window when it's done. Generally speaking on my netBook it's a pretty fast process - even with large text files - although obviously this is liable to be slower on other machines (expecially a Series 5).

So my question is this: do you prefer to see this 'inside the machine' activity window or would you prefer future versions to hide this activity and just show (say) a flashing 'Compiling eBook' message or similar?

All feedback/comments appreciated.

Thanks,
Martin

DOes this create a file like the help files, eg with the "contents" links on the side? or is it some form of "story" type book?

No, those are Data files given a '.hlp' extension.

This creates 'eBook' format files that can be read by programs such as EBook, VReader5, and Mobipocket.

You might like to read the article I wrote on EBook for some more background Peter.

Best regards,
Martin
