Hello everyone.
Brilliant forum, Martin and others. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find it.
I'm new to everyone, but I've been a Psion owner since my first Organiser II back in the dark days of the late eighties. I'm one of those who had a brief affair with various all-singing all-dancing Windows CE devices and came crawling back, begging for forgiveness when I realised that a proper keyboard, stable operating system and full programmability was what I really loved all along.
Anyway, these days, I have a Revo Plus, a 5mx and a 7book (which I have managed to get working fine on my wireless network). I use the peerless Macro5 extensively on both the 5mx and the 7book. On the Revo, I use Mario Collado's "Run Macro" programme to access my Macros. It's a fine app, but I'd love to be able to "fire" Macros with a single keypress as I do on the other machines, rather than having to use a hotkey and then select the macro I want from a drop-down list. I know that porting Macro5 to Revo is a project that people have spoken of doing in the past. Has anyone had any success in this area?
I've written an app that allows me to bring up the task list from within any application on the Revo by pressing Ctl+Esc, (a feature I love in Macro5 and which I find a real time-saver.) I'd be happy to share the code (bodged crudely out of RMREvent - I'm not much of a programmer). Should I try and plough on adding additional hotkey functionality to this application to try and replicate this most useful feature of Macro5?
Any ideas/suggestions would be gratefully received!

Hi Ben,
I actually have a beta version of Macro5 for the revo which I've been sending out to anyone who wants it. In truth however it's been so long that I've looked at the code that I should probably make it public as an unsupported beta on my website...
Happy to send you a copy if you drop me an email.
Cheers,
Martin |

Well thank you Martin for sending me the Beta file. I've been using it for a few hours and it's just what I was looking for. Now my Revo boasts the full Macro5 functionality I love in my 5mx and 7Book. |
