Why do you still use a Psion 7 Netbook Revo etc.Like most of you I'm sure. Have dabbled in the dark side. When I refer to the darkside I refer to any other PDA other than a Psion. This is a little of my story.I worked at The Sharper Image in Australia about 9 or ten years ago. The store is no longer as the lost the Franchise I believe or something to that effect . At the time my only PC was an NEC Versa P Laptop. This was the top of the range P75 40Meg RAM 850 Meg H/Drive. I thought it was pretty awesome. On working in the store one. I had been eye balling the sharp Zaurus and just thought it was incredible. It had the built in side card modem etc not (Austel Approved but we still sold it my boss was a knucklehead) My co-worker then insisted that the Psion 3a was a better machine I thought he was smoking something . He asked me to take it home one evening and check it out so I did. I was blown away so much so my next 2 pay check went to buying one ( we didn't get paid much ) I then got the modem (also not Austel approved ) and all teh other accessories and so it went on > I knew so much about all the PDA's that I made 90% of the sales related to PDA's I had found my neiche in life. I left there after I was headhuntered by the owned of a store which specialised in electronic organisers www.ow.com.au (which has since been sold ) My boss and I were like two kids in a candy shop when new Organisers came in he was devoted to his Zaurus me to my Psion. Then came Palm he loved the Palm I still loved my Psion. Vodaphone (Psion's distributor had a competition that anyone who sold ten units in a month got a free Psion 5 I sold twenty ( I still only got one)  Anyway I was happy for my customers as I knew they were getting there monies worth. Well not long after thsi I met my wife moved to the states had two kids bought a house and so on. We'll I garbed my Psion 5 out the other week and it had bit the dust I think it needs on of those flexi cables which I need to order . My wife felt so sorry for me as did my best friend. So much so he gave me his Palm T5 because he didn't like it and bought himself a Windows based unit Toshiba or Ipaq. I wasn't impressed at all so much so I gave it to my wife. She told me to go ahead and order a new unit off ebay ( little did she know about the colour unit models )  Well my wife was so impressed now she wants one  and as for me I'm as happy as a pig in slop.

Why are we so happy?Why are we still so happy?Psion's don't support bluetooth, they can't play MP3's well or act as a phone or a very good photo viewer or play video files, very little software is made anymore, there's no new hardware, and it can't even link that well to Windows or Linux or a Mac. So, I ask again, why are we still so happy? Well, it's pretty simple to be honest. If I want to play music I'll use my MP3 player, if I want to watch video files I'll use my laptop or DVD player, and if I want to make a call I'll use my mobile or link it to my Psion to get on the 'net. As for software, there may be little new stuff, but we don't need much more. Has anyone here ever used Pocket Word?? Pocket Excel?? They are poor poor programs in my opinion, Pocket Excel 2002 can't even do graphs!! Oh, and I'm sorry, but I require a keyboard. These Psions may not be great multimedia machines, but in my opinion they are still basically the most powerful work machines around. Between the EPOC programs and Opera and TomeRaider and nFTP I can do everything I need.
