PsiBio

Hi

I d/l the PsiBio program and "installed" (?) it on my newly acquired MC218.

When I try to run it (or some other programs) a message is displayed that says "Cannot find program". Can you tell me why this appears and what I need to do to correct the "problem"

Thank you
ps What a GREAT little pda. Very Happy

Hello, glad you like your little MC218 by the way.

I just tried downloading PsiBio from the pscience5.net Lost and Found page, unzipped it, and installed it from the PsiBio.sis file, no problems.

Try reinstalling it from the SIS file, just in case.

Incase you got it from somewhere else you'll find the last version at http://www.pscience5.net/lfapps.htm.

Good luck.

Yes, it was a great buy, unmarked, all the keys are still firm to press so I assume it has had very little use. The ONLY problem I have with it is the stylus. The stylus does not "clip" into its holder and is prone to fall out Very Happy

I will post another message re MC218 disassembly in an attempt to fix this stylus problem. I don't have any concerns with the disassemlby, just want any advice that may save me some time in searching for screws, clips etc.

I am sure that IS where I d/l from in the first place, however I will go to the url and d/l again JUST to be sure.

Hi

Further to my last post, I removed the PsiBio (using the MC218 add/remove). I then tried an install via the right click option on the My Ericsson icon (on the XP windows desktop). This did not work and casues the same error "Cannot Find Program"

When the app is installed, where does the PsiBio program appear? How do I start the program? Do I use the PsiBio.app file??

Actually use the PC software to copy the .SIS file onto the the MC218 into say C:\Documents and then run it (select and press enter or double tap) to install it that way.

It will show up on the Extras bar (far right of the touch icons).

As for you stylus problem, if you use (carefully mind you) a small screwdriver or edge of a knife and gently poke in the gap just under where the serial cable plugs in until you hear a click the stylus should clip in nicely.

If you raise the serial socket cover this is more apparent, there should be a small (we're talking 1 to 2mm here) gap to poke something into, and you should get a satisfisingly loud click to indicate the mechanism is back in place when you poked in far enough.

Yes, I tried that, but it does not show up on the Extras Bar Sad

Tried that without success. As I did not know quite what was inside I wasn't prepared to "poke" around too much. I took the case off, only three screws anyway Very Happy

I don't know quite what the problem was. When I tried inserting the stylus while watching, it seemed to work ok. Anyway it's fixed now and works well, thank you Very Happy

Did you try doing a soft reset? = put a pin in the small opening near to the backup battery.
This usually works, when getting such an error message (happens to me after putting the cf card in a cf card reader...)
