New user registrationSadly I've had to disable the automatic self-registration for new users. There were typically 2 or 3 attempts every day by people trying to register 'users' with links to (predominantly) sex sites. Whilst not an incredibly onerous task, it was becoming something that I felt compelled to police every day and that was using up valuable time.
For a trial period at least, new users will need to be approved by Admin (i.e. me!). Normal turnaround on this will be fast - usually less than 24hrs. If this should become problematic for any reason, I may look at recruiting some more Admins to help out...
Thanks,
Martin

A quick update to this.
Over the past few months I've seen an increasing number of spammers trying to register with dodgy website links in their details. I carefully vet every requested registration and anything like this is automatically deleted without recourse.
So just a note to those that might think they get something from doing it - don't bother. You're wasting your time.
