IR-printing problem

Hello everybody,

I have a problem with IR-printing on my netBook

The IR function on my nB works very well, because
1) I can make a synchronisation with other Psions with EpocSync.
2) I can make contact with my ISP with the IR-modem.


If I want to print a document, I choose in the printer setup
1) To: HP LaserJet 3
2) Via: IR

When I do that, the Revo print the document and the nB gives me an error
"Problem detected, printing discontinued"

I don't use plBeam
So I have a problem.

Can somebody help me?

After installation of the fix,
and a softreset

The problem still exist Sad

Oh dear... Sad The only other thing I'd suggest is a complete backup, hard reset, and restore - but that's a lot of work!

Not with BackUp by Ralph Sprenger.
Fist delete ColorMagic (because ColorMagic and BackUp have a battle by restoring the icons on the extra bars.)
Then a backup
Hard reset
Restore
That in 20 or 25 min.

Well, the problem might be, that you installed a 'malware'. I also had lots of problems as I installed too many apps. There was too much rubbish on my CF Cards at that moment.
So I recommend backing up (?) all important folders (with TR-Files e.g.), without the system folder.
Restoring will then, of course, eats a lot of time... Finding important sis-files and so on. But if you done that it will solve the problem. Wink

I agree - I use it as my main backup program. Very Happy v3.00 (073) interestingly enough... Wink

I have Ralph's Backup v2..47 (072). Just looked at the PsionWelt website and it shows the same version. How/where did you get v3?

He sent it to me quite a while back when I asked if he could add the ability for BackUp to be able to store the backup files in a directory under \System\ - which v2.47 doesn't allow. Not sure if there are any other changes or not. At the time he asked me not to distribute it - although given the length of time that's elapsed since then, I might approach him again and ask if this can now be done...

With the help of Ivan and Henk-Jan, I solved the problem.
After installing the C:\System\Printers\PCL5.RSC file my nB can print again by IR.

Later I saw that the file was already on my D drive.
So the PCL5.RSC file must stand on your C drive when it will work correctly.
