IR Beaming trouble?Hello all. I have a question I'm hoping you can help me with. I upgraded my series 7 to a 7book with a "personality module." I'm not sure if the upgrade is the culprit, but now Plbeam and Cbeam don't seem to work. I've been trying unsuccessfully to beam data from my Palm which should be supported by these programs, and has worked in the past. I get a message window that pops up after pressing receive on the Psion that says "not supported." Any Ideas about what I can do to fix this?
Thanks!

You made an upgrade, so you must make a hard-reset and after that a restore.
Sometimes you see after a restore that programs doesn't work.
I'll suggest a reinstallation of the programs with there SIS-files.
Success.

plbeam needs to enter a registration code, which is specially made for your PSION with its individual ID-Number. Are you sure that your 7-book´s ID-Number hasn´t changed while upgrading it?
Otherwise I would reinstall plbeam.

As Far As I Know the ID-Number is in your mother board and not in the module.

The ID will change however by running this program:

I quickly resetted all changings, got the same ID as before, however, since that time, the registration code of TomeRaider does not work

You really never want to register Tomeraider?
You really want a new UID?
It had something to do with the TCPIP Update for Psion7. It said while installing it would not be compatible. So http://psionteklogix.com developed a little program which changes the Machine Type to netBook instead of 7. You then need to perform a hard reset...
I don't have the link anymore but it was mentioned on the psionplace forum.
I still have both files

Thanks!Hello all and thank you for your responses! It's been a few days since I visited, what a surprise all the helpful comments. I ended up performing a hard reset in the end, which restored IR function. Thanks again!
