Internet connection of a 5mx via IR?Recently I got a COMPEX IRE201. This gadget connects any PDA, Personal Computer to a LAN via Infrared. With a PocketPC or Palm you can enter the Internet or manage your emails. The same is possible with the PSION Netbook.
But trying to connect a 5mx to the Internet it fails, because the 5mx cannot leave a local area notwork. You can just secure your data with nftp to a local machine or download data from there just by using an IR-connection.
So what a blame for the 5mx, the only possibility to enter the internet, which would work, is to use a proxy-server within the LAN. But unfortunately I havenīt got a proxy.
Has anybody an idea, how to get to Internet with a 5mx via LAN?

Yes, you can connect your 5MX with MochaPPP to your LAN.
It's now freeware

Itīs not the question to connect to LAN, itīs the question to reach Internet via LAN without using a PC. The COMPEX IRE201 is directly connected to the router. So it would be nice to look for emails without starting a PC.
You can get into contact with the PC in many ways,
- nftp
- PSIWIN
- 2connectu
- PLbeam
but I would be interested in getting connected to the Internet using the Router and the COMPEX. I know, it would work with a Proxy-Server which is connected to the Router. But therefore you have to run a old PC with LINUX software. I would prefer a solution just runing the PSION 5mx.
