D-Link Wireless Compact Flash Type I Card : works on 5mx?Hi there
Once again, I've dusted off my 5mx and am looking into all the wonderful things you can do on this great machine.
I was wondering if a Type 1 Compact Flash wireless LAN card would work on a 5mx:

Has anyone tried this? Or does anyone know how I can link up my 5mx to the ethernet ports on my broadband router/modem?
Any ideas much appreciated.

Hi Phil,
I'm pretty certain that the only thing that will work in a d: drive on a 5/mx is a memory card - I think that's all Psion wired it for.
The only way IMO of getting connectivity is going to be via either the serial port or the IR port. If you can find some gizmo that let's you use either of these into an ethernet connection then I guess you might be able to do it...
Cheers,
Martin

CF SlotMorning guys.
Yeah I'm afraid from all the tech releases I've seen the CF slot on all the Psions is only wired for direct memory storage and has no connections as a device I/O slot. You can't tell the machine it is as far as I've ever seen.
Though I like the serial port idea. Wonder how you'd pull that off... ...
