Cyclone Floppy Disk Drive question...
Glad to be an "early adopter" of the new forums!
Ok, so here it is - is there any software/driver that enables the Purple Cyclone floppy disk-drive to work with the 5/5mx/MC218-series machines?
This is the version with the correct, later serial plug (not the earlier 3-series only one) to suit the 3C or 3MX etc.
Any help appreciated

As far as I'm aware Nigel, it doesn't exist. Of course, if anyone know differently, please do tell!

Hmmm. Well it's a long shot I know. It just occured to me that as the manufacturer had gone to the trouble of changing the serial connector, maybe there was hope. If the ROM inside the drive is generic it could be a green light, but if it's only hard-coded for series 3, then a no-no.
I ask as I have one but not tried it yet until I'm sure there will be no electrical damage

Hallo Nigel,
I think it's possible BUT not easy. A Psion 5mx driver doesn't excist.
BUT ... you can try to use XTM (a DOS emulator). Run the Psion 3 emulator and try to load the Psion driver from there.
That's the only way around I can figure out.
