"Dic" dictionary in Lost & FoundI tried the "Dic" dictionary but it doesn't seem to work for me. I put all the files in the zip file into System\Apps\Dic. Nothing shows up on the Extras bar. The files all have question mark icons. Double-clicking on the .app file just gets a not found messsage.The Readme file says there are 2 folders, one the zip folder. I presume there should be another folder within the zip file, but there isn't. Any ideas on how to get things working? Keith |

Hello Keith,
Look into the preferences 
And 1 directory with the dictionaries must stand in the root on C,D or E And 1 directory with the program must stand in \System\Apps |

That seemed to solve 1 problem. I now see Dic on the Extras bar and the app will open. Next problem: Example - I selected the English-Italian dictionary. The box with the cursor at the bottom of the page seems to be where you type in a word to be translated. When I try typing, all it does is move the cursor, no other action - no letters appear. I've tried different Latin input methods. Don't know which I should be using. Have no idea what the Dictionary preferences mean. I can set the button preferences. Lack of Help is no help. Keith |

Hello Keith, Here I am. I install the files with V+ Do you have the file oc.gdr in the following directory? \System\Fonts There must be a dir, in the root (Dic), one in System\Apps\DIC and one file in fonts. |

I don't have a System\Fonts on any drive.
I created a D:\System\Fonts folder and moved oc.gdr from System\Apps\Dic into it. Now I can see and enter text. Just how is one to know that's what should be done? I've never come across anything like it before. I'm going to change my Readme file to show what needs to be done in case I ever have to reinstall this app. If Martin is reading this, I think it'd be a good idea to re-do the readme file to let people know just how to install this app. And maybe clear up the "2 folders" issue. Just me grumbling. 
I do have view+ installed but don't know enough about it to really use it. Keith |

Hello Keith,
In the readme into the DIC.zip writen by Martin you can read what to do. If you work with RMRFile, you can do the same. Activate al the files in the zip by (Ctrl+A), Extract, choose \System and restore folders. |

The readme file talks about a fonts folder, but there is no fonts folder there.
On another matter. Just what do D-N, E-N, N-D, N-E, and Frld stand for? I figure E=English. Is D Dutch or Deutsch or something else? I had thought N-Norwegian, but it doesn't look like it to me. Frld is a complete mystery. Also why do some of the files have Text icons (which I can open) and other the question mark which you can't open? However, I can open those question mark files within the app itself. Are you getting the idea that I think this app is a problem?

So it looks like I really don't need to keep D-N, E-N, N-D, or N-E because I have Dutch-English, English-Dutch files, and the D-N and N-D won't be of any use to me. Right?
And what language does Frld signify? I already have an Eng-Fr file which is for French. I also have an Eng-Sw file which I presume is Swedish - no? And are all the question mark files supposed to be somehow coverted into Text files? Keith |

Frld = Friesland This is the upper province in The Netherlands, and they speak Fries. That's the second language in The Netherlands. |

Useful info. - I didn't understand what the different languages were either! I'll try and remember to update the site with this...

Not sure I want to use the Dic app. I decided maybe I should have it also on my 5mx When I copied all the files to the 5mx, it created a bunch of garbage files which could not be deleted. I had to reformat the 5mx's D drive then copy my backup back to it. Now I'm afraid to try again.
Decided to remove it from the netBook also in case there's something wrong with it and I don't want to have to reformat there.

More Dics FoundI just mailed to Martin a bunch of 30 or more dictionnaries for our Dic app(to translate from Welsh to Irish for instance

I hope so, because I'm curious about the strange, in my eyes, dictionnaries like Welsh to Irish. I like the other strange one English-Frisian, but I'm living in Frisian country so it isn't a stange one for me
