I have a netBook with WiFi and your average Windows XP PC with WiFi.
I want to be able to use the FTP Server over WiFi so I can more quickly backup data without taking the CF card out, which just seems to confuse my poor little machine.
However, with the connection up, an IP assigned, and the 'Server ready' message on the nB my FTP client PC side simply says 'failed to get directory listing' or something similar dependant on the client.
Does anyone have any bright ideas because I'm outta good ones.
I have tried numerous clients, incase anyone was thinking that, and they all work connecting to something over the Internet.
Many thanks in advance everyone.

Hi Jon,
I can only assume that it is something to do with the client set up. I believe that FTP Server only works in anonymous mode, and I can't remember which way around it is but I think the 'passive' setting is critical. (I should be able to check that later today).
I use FTP Server with "FTP Wanderer" on the PC (Win2k) and it has all been rock solid for me and much faster than using nFTP to a server on the PC. A complete 150Mb backup from a CF card takes about 10 minutes.

Hi Jon,
Yes, Passive mode should be OFF. Let me know if that doesn't help and I'll investigate further - it worked 'straight out of the box' for me.

Thanks David. Passive mode worked. Took me a little time to find, boy are there a lot of settings
And I see what you mean about the transfer rate, it's great, second only to pulling the CF out.
I see why your netBook was a bit annoyed at you pulling data off it at that speed, enjoying the Psi-Log by the way
Thanks again.
