Hello Martin,

Today I found the Dutch-English dictonary for Sdict on your site,
can I foresee also a English-Dutch version?

Hi Kees,

I don't have one - I've asked the program's author if he has access to one or can generate/convert one. I'll let you know as soon as I hear from him.

Cheers,
Martin

I've just heard back from Alexey (the author). He doesn't have an English-Dutch dictionary. However, I had a hunt and there's one here at Memoware in Tomeraider format: http://www.memoware.com/?screen=doc_detail&doc_id=2409&p=title^!dutch~!description^!dutch~!author^!dutch~!date_added^!0~!rating^!0~!platform^!EPOC~!. Actually there are quite a few Dutch dictionaries there in Tomeraider format...

I've got some more dictionaries for Dic (not SDict) - including the Dutch/English ones - which I'll be publishing tonight...

If I go to Xtra Software/Sdictionary files, near the top of the page there is a link, http://sdict.com/en/, for getting more dictionaries.

I followed the link and tried to download an English-Danish dictionary, but instead of a download file, all I get is a new page with gibberish on it.

Does anyone know how to get a proper download file?

Keith

Hi Keith,

Here's the link for all English files:
http://sdict.axmasoft.com/en/dicts.php?lang=EN&language=ENGLISH

English-Danish:
http://sdict.axmasoft.com/en/view.php?file=English_Danish.dct

All files for Psion Epoc ER5:
http://sdict.axmasoft.com/en/versions.php?version=epoc

There also will be a Windows version of SDict:

Greetings from the Netherlands,

>>Here's the link for all English files:
http://sdict.axmasoft.com/en/dict...g=EN&language=ENGLISH<<

That's the link I tried. I appears that it'll download if I use IE instead of Opera.

Now I have another proglem. I copied the .dct files to my nB but they all have the question mark icon, so don't show up when I open SDict. All the SDict files that Martin has in his Xtra Software have .dct extensions, and they has the SDict icon in my nB. What's going on?

Hi Keith,

Have you tried this?:

After you have installed SIS, you could download dictionaries you
would like to use and put'em to the same working directory.
Sdictionary looks through this directory every time after
start and automatically recognizes all the dictionaries stored there.

After program started use <Ctrl-D> to select dictionary you wanna use.
Entry letters in the entry area, use Up/Down arrows to navigate
through word list, press Enter to get the translation.
You can also open and use additional dictionaries using File-Open
dialog.

I guess I'm not getting through to you. I put the dictionaries in my SDict folder, but since they (the new downloads) have a question mark icon, the SDict app doesn't see them when I open the app. It just sees the dictionary files in the folder with the SDict icon. I don't know how to make it any clearer.

This happens to me too. Even with the "Psience5"-dct-files sometimes. However they work fine if I have them on my D-drive. Will keep on searching...

I keep the .dct files in D:\Documents\eBooks\Sdict.

On my PC, the icons for the Pscience5 .dct files and the newly downloaded files are identical. But when I copy to the Sdict folder, only the Pscience5 files have the big "S" icon - the other have the question mark.

I just tried not using the card reader to copy the files to the CF card, but used Psion's serial cable. Tried both to the C drive and the D drive. In each case when the copying starts the file on the nB has the proper big "S" icon, but as soon as the copying finishes, the S changes to a question mark. ????????

I posted this weird fact on www.PDATotaal.info also. Maybe some of our Dutch Psionfans have some answers...
